API TESTING
HTTP Request Tester
Send a lightweight HTTP request from your browser and inspect the status, headers and body.
CORS note: Browsers block requests to servers that do not allow cross-origin calls. Public test APIs work; private or internal endpoints usually need a proxy or a tool such as Postman. Nothing here replaces a proper API client for real work.
What to look at in the response
- Status line — the exact code and reason phrase.
- Response headers — particularly
Content-Type,Content-Lengthand cache headers. - Body — pretty-printed when it is JSON so you can verify fields directly.
Quick checks you can run
- Does the endpoint return the expected status code?
- Does
Content-Typematch the actual body? - Does an invalid request return a structured error body?
- Are sensitive headers reflected back to the client?
Pair this with the API Response Viewer to study saved responses offline.
